Step 1
Pay attention in class. Take notes on important information and be prepared to ask questions. Be sure to highlight any material that is especially emphasized by the professor. Refrain from unnecessary conversations and interaction. Change your seat if needed, to avoid distractions.
Step 2
Organize your study materials. Purchase items such as notebooks, folders, and binders to help separate learning material into categories. File all classroom handouts and previous tests for reuse as reference materials. If necessary, rewrite study notes to ensure they are legible.
Step 3
Study and review daily. This helps reinforce the lessons and decreases the chances of excluding needed material. Complete all homework and projects in a neat and timely manner. Schedule more intense study sessions in the weeks prior to the exam.
Step 4
Find a study buddy. Having a partner can help to reinforce lessons and prevent boredom. Choose a competent study partner to prevent you from losing focus or the drive to complete studying.
Step 5
Get the proper rest. Resist the temptation to party all night on the eve of the exam. Focus on success on the exam, and get a full night's rest.
Step 6
Receive plenty of rest.
